Reading about HDTVin the US from the pvrblog. Googled for information regarding the UK and found this. It explains that to give the extra bandwidth that HDtv channel would require there would not be enough space for the number of existing channels and that the likelihood will be that it will be broadcast over Satellite. Looks like Sky will be cashing in on HDtv first then. There is a European HDtv service available but you require a Satellite Dish to get it. Reports from a event about HDtv last year in London's NFT
